The Calgary Stampede Talent Search is an annual competition that takes place during the Calgary Stampede for amateur performing artists between the ages of 6 and 21. Its purpose is to discover, develop, encourage and showcase young amateur entertainers.
Each year I produce a series of 60+ green screen videos that introduce each performer. The ambition is to present them in a context as exciting as a pro sports event.
I’ve also supported the committee on camera and on stage as an ambassador for the show by conducting interviews, hosting auditions and offering behind the scenes commentary.
In 2016 I introduced a new 45 minute audio program for the theatre lobby. It played back like a radio show and featured information about the Stampede Talent Search, past winners and some of their musical performances.
In the months preceding auditions and the Stampede I prepare promotional videos and offer feedback and input at regular committee meetings.
